Reunions Held

Class of 1995 – 10 year reunion held 24th September 2005

Class of 1995

Class of 1975 – 30 year reunion held 8th October 2005
A number of ladies from the class of 1975 attended the 30 year reunion. The reunion was held on the same weekend as the OGU Annual Reunion which enabled them to attend both functions. These women attended a cocktail party at Calrossy, then went out for dinner and stayed overnight in the Calrossy dormitories.

Sydney Old Girls
Old Girls in the Sydney area met at Alexanders Café, Lindfield for lunch on 15th October 2005. It’s great to see such a mix of ages together in these photos.

Class of 2000 – 5 year reunion held 22nd October 2005
Over 50 girls (and some boys) gathered in Sydney for the Class of 2000’s 5 year reunion. We all know that Calrossy girls will go anywhere for a good party and people came from far and wide to attend what was a fun and memorable reunion. Held at the Nelson Hotel in Bondi Junction, the not-so-Old Girls were treated to a night of drinks, food, music, dancing and many laughs, as we recollected fun times and caught up on the last five years since we left Calrossy. Many girls had been and gone to university (and a large number were still there!), many had gone travelling overseas and many were now working in a myriad of different jobs around the country. What a pleasure it was swapping stories, meeting some very lovely partners (and husbands) and seeing how close the bonds we forged at school still are!

Class of 1984 – 21 year reunion held 5th November 2005
We had an informal get together at The Longyard, Tamworth over lunch, had a tour of the school in the afternoon and then had a dinner at the Country Comfort Motel that night. We had 28 Old Girls attend the dinner. Everyone enjoyed the day, reminiscing about school and catching up with old friends.

2005 Reunion

2005 Reunion
The OGU Reunion Weekend and AGM were held on Saturday 8th October 2005 beginning with a communion service in the Calrossy Hall at 11.30 am. This service was conducted by Rev. John Jenner. He spoke briefly about a variety of topics such as the Micah Challenge (www.micahchallenge.org.au), the fairly traded program (www.maketradefair.com) and what we as individuals can do to help those less fortunate in our community and abroad.
At the completion of the service we adjourned to the dining room for a delicious lunch prepared by the Calrossy kitchen staff.
Following the lunch, we attended the AGM of the Old Girls Union Inc. 25 members were present. At this meeting a new executive was elected. We, the new committee, would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks on behalf of all members of the Old Girls Union, to outgoing President Jane Southwell and Secretary Kylie Walsh (Thomson) for all the years of dedicated service they have given. Thank you Jane and Kylie.
After the AGM, the principal, Mrs Elisabeth Jackson, invited us on a tour of the school grounds and buildings. There have been so many changes recently that it was quite fascinating. Many comments such as “that’s where my bed was”, or “this used to be my dorm” were heard. We visited some of the classrooms which have far more technology and computers in them than when any of us were attending Calrossy.
From all accounts, a great time was had by all who attended. Photos can be viewed on the Calrossy OGU website.

Mary England (Melville) Class of 1943
In recognition of 62 years of service and commitment to the Calrossy Old Girls and the School, Mary England was presented with
an Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2005 End of Year School Assembly. The award was presented by OGU Secretary Tanya Richards on behalf of the Old Girls Union and Calrossy School.
