Calrossy Anglican School for Girls Calrossy

An anglican Day and Boarding Secondary School for Girls

Boarding

Responsibilities

At Calrossy the aim is to create a home away from home atmosphere for the boarders

The boarding staff are experienced. They have responsibility for boarders outside normal school hours and so they live in apartments within the boarding houses where they are immediately accessible to the students. There is regular liaison between boarding and teaching staff about individual boarders, their homework, study routines and welfare. The boarding staff organise regular weekend outings, movies, social events and special activities for interest groups such as horse riders.

The boarders are encouraged to be involved in the local community through sport, church, youth groups, classes conducted by community groups, the Tamworth Conservatorium of Music and even part-time work.

New boarders are linked with daygirl families to provide local support and social contact.
