Christian Studies
Calrossy believes that to be Christian is a way of life based
on a personal response to the call of Jesus Christ on our
lives. It means understanding the reason for the life, death
and resurrection of Jesus and making a conscious decision
to make him a part of one's life.
Christian Studies is taught by a team of teachers all of
whom are active members of local churches. It encourages students
to explore their own beliefs and those of others and to be
able to critically evaluate statements about God.
The program focuses on two areas;
Understanding the love of God seen in the life of Christ
and told in the bible story
and
Understanding the call to care for those in need wherever
we find them.
As well as exciting classroom activities, students have an
opportunity to explore this relationship with Christ at a
greater depth at many places in the school program. Groups
that meet at lunchtime for prayer and encouragement, planning
and running weekend children's missions and attending Christian
music festivals are all part of the program offered at Calrossy.
As well, students are encouraged to make use of opportunities
such as the Scripture Union study camp, local youth groups.
