Curriculum

English

English study is a traditional strength of Calrossy. Compulsion does not impede passion as we aim to meet syllabus requirements within an exciting, enervating and empowering environment. Our staff members are concerned to provide individually for students at whatever stage they present themselves to us, with extra-curriculum assistance readily available.

Our results attest to the professionalism of our staff and to the heights achieved by our students. This subject is enhanced by the attention given to Debating and Public Speaking, by visiting performances, by visits to performances, by extension activities for students and by encouraging students to engage in a wide reading schedule. Academic rigour, coupled with the capacity of our students to aim to master all and any form of communication are vital components to the high standard of this subject. Junior students are encouraged to feel confident and comfortable in expressing opinions.

In order to equip Year 10 students for the demands of senior study, they experience a rotation of staff, each of the latter sharing his/her area of expertise with the students. Graduating students at Calrossy attest to the quality of their English studies experience.

All Board of Studies English courses including Extension Studies are available for study at Calrossy.
