Earth and Environmental Studies

Within the Science faculty, senior students have the option to study Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science and Physics.

The emphasis in our Senior Science classes is on promoting a curiosity about the scientific world and to develop our students' confidence in interpreting, exploring and understanding new concepts.

Student learning is enhanced through a variety of excursions within our local community, to regional industries and to rural and metropolitan universities. This allows our students to experience the exciting and innovative applications of these sciences.

Speakers who are experts in their fields are utilized in the classroom to complement the experience of our teachers and our diverse and superior range of resources. Once a week Science staff conduct subject specific "Science at Breakfast" tutorials that are readily available to students seeking additional assistance. Our enthusiastic, committed staff have a wide range of scientific backgrounds and experience combined with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Stage 6 Science Syllabuses.

The high number of our graduating students pursuing a career in the Sciences is testimony to the value of the experiences provided to our students.
