Curriculum

Geography

Geography is available as an elective course of either 100 or 200 hours in Years 9 and 10 or as a 2 unit HSC subject in Years 11 and 12.

Who said, "Women can't read maps?"

At Calrossy, young women not only read maps, but they debate the future sustainability of the Earth and its people, tackle global issues and learn to care about local communities and environments.

Calrossy offers the full range of compulsory and elective Geography courses.

Through the study of Geography, students learn about natural and man-made environments. In conjunction with mandatory syllabus requirements, students are encouraged to investigate issues, develop skills, values and attitudes which equip them to become active and informed citizens in an increasingly changing world. This is achieved by participation in fieldwork, such as visiting the World Heritage listed Fraser Island, New England National Park, Sydney and locations in and around Tamworth.
