Science

The emphasis in our classes is for students to develop a wonder about the natural and technological world around them while developing confidence and competence in the practice of Science.

There is a focus on problem solving, practical investigations and communication while providing a strong academic grounding in knowledge and understanding, as required by the syllabus.

Our student achievements and high retention rate into Senior Science courses attests to our staffs' ability to actively engage students and provide them with enjoyable experiences.

Classes in Years 9 and 10 are streamed and experience a rotation of staff teaching in their field of expertise. This, combined with small classes, allows for a diversified approach to the curriculum and individual attention to students. A program of acceleration and enrichment activities ensures gifted students are appropriately challenged.

The Science facilities are of the highest standard with modern, well-equipped laboratories, data projectors, a range of data logging equipment and satellite Internet connection.
