Curriculum

Technology

Calrossy is currently converting to the new Technology syllabus that replaces the mandatory 7-8 Design and Technology syllabus.

The aim of the Technology (Mandatory) Years 7-8 Syllabus is to develop students' ability to design, produce and evaluate quality solutions that respond to identified opportunities and needs.

Technology is a design based course that places emphasis on all aspects of the design process highlighting creative thinking, problem solving and collaborative teamwork.

The students must utilize technologies including IT in all aspects of their work in this course.

Students use a diverse range of tools applicable to the focus areas of engineering, agriculture, food and textiles.

All students are encouraged to enter the Minister's Young Designers Awards.

The basic skills gained over several focus areas will provide a springboard for the students to make informed decisions when selecting subjects in Year 9.
