This week, Head of HISE Mrs Draper, took some Yr 11 Calrossy Legal students to participate in an interschool Mock Mediation competition.

The scenario was a property divorce settlement between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Harry & Meghan). Calrossy Barrister Miller Lloyd represented client Meghan (Calli Nagle) and was supported by Solicitor Olivia Leckie. Our team was against Farrer (Team Harry) and Calrossy managed to negotiate a settlement of 75% of assets for Meghan to 25% for Harry.

A number of local schools were involved and the overall day was taken out by a team from Quirindi High. Our students enjoyed the challenge of participating in a real time scenario and learned about the process of mediation which is an expanding part of the legal profession. Calrossy would like to extend our  appreciation to Solicitor Fiona Burnes from Centacare Family Support Program for organising and offering this experience to local students.
