STEM/Makerspace

Makerspace gives students opportunity to become creators instead of being consumers. It focuses on students as innovators, creating in new ways including green screen technology, 3D printing, electronics, computer programming, augmented and virtual reality and robotics.

Calrossy's Senior Campus has a purpose built learning space for these activities, with a focus on integrating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) into all areas of the curriculum and allowing students to explore their interests as cocurricular activities. These spaces are also helping to prepare those who need the critical 21st century skills in this areas.  They provide hands on learning, help with critical thinking skills and even boost self-confidence.  Skills that are explored in our Makerspaces range from high level technology to basic crafts, allowing students of all interests and abilities to challenge themselves.

Calrossy has been at the forefront of this movement, with staff presenting at national workshops on how to integrate Makerspaces and STEAM into classrooms and students attending The Young Creators Conference.
