Calrossy in Concert once again proved to be a highlight of our cultural calendar, showcasing the incredible talents of students from across the school. Held in the spirit of celebration and creativity, the evening brought together music, dance and performance in a program that was as diverse as it was inspiring.
The event opened with a series of pre-concert performances, setting the tone with solo works and polished ensembles. Audiences were treated to elegant piano pieces by Aryan Shahmohammadi, Isabella Lewis, Hudson Clunas and Hugh Honeyfield, along with expressive dance solos from Mikayla Williamson and Chelsea Ryan. The energy and rhythm of the XP Percussion Ensemble added a vibrant touch, while Jeremy Scott’s trombone solo showcased technical skill and stage presence.




From the moment the Jazz Band burst into Crazy Train , the concert performances transported the audience on a journey through genre, mood and imagination.
Some standout moments included:
Year 7 Instrumental Program : Every Year 7 student took to the stage as part of the Girls’ and Boys’ Concert Bands — performing Latin Fire and Linus and Lucy respectively — an incredible milestone showcasing their growth and teamwork.
Sophisticated Solo Performances : James He’s interpretation of Chopin’s Waltz No. 7 and Mitchell Hobbs' dazzling Rondo Alla Turca were met with enthusiastic applause. Other notable soloists included Chelsea Smith (Flute), Lucy Furner (Voice), Sophia Mooney (Vocal), Georgia Wearne (Clarinet), Rebecca Sams (Voice), and Oliver Scott (Piano).
Dance and Drama : Ella Moxon and Charlotte MacGillivray brought flair and emotion through dance, while the Year 9 PDHPE classes presented a well-rehearsed group routine that energised the hall.
Student Bands : The Year 8 Girls’ Rock Band All Stars impressed with Dance The Night , while the Year 8 Boys’ Rock Band The Chiselled Chins delivered a powerful performance of Better . The senior rock band The Gents closed their set with Tennessee Whiskey , a crowd favourite.
Ensembles and Choirs : The Combined Choir’s performance of The Wanderer and the Orchestra’s rousing arrangement from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story brought warmth and grandeur to the stage. The finale featured the Year 12 Music Ensemble performing Skyfall , followed by CAS Rocks closing the night with Never Tear Us Apart .








More than just a concert, this event was a vibrant celebration of the arts at Calrossy — a powerful reflection of our commitment to nurturing creativity and self-expression in our students. Through music, dance and performance, our students develop not only artistic skill, but also the courage to share their gifts and the confidence to stand tall in front of others.
Calrossy in Concert shines a light on the depth of talent within our community and the value we place on co-curricular opportunities that enrich the educational journey. It was also a moment of shared joy for families, staff and peers — a reminder of the beauty that comes when we create and celebrate together.
