Book Week is always a highlight on the Calrossy calendar, and this year it was marked by a special collaboration between our Middle and Junior School students.
Year 9 boys visited Kindergarten Blue on the William Cowper Campus to work side by side with our youngest learners. Together, they planned and wrote imaginative adventure stories, complete with illustrations. The activity encouraged creativity, teamwork and confidence, while also giving our older students the chance to act as mentors and role models.
The cross-campus initiative reflects Calrossy’s holistic approach to education, where learning extends beyond the classroom and students grow in character as well as knowledge. For the Kindergarten students, it was an exciting opportunity to share ideas and see them transformed into stories with the support of their Year 9 partners. For the older boys, it was a moment to practise leadership, patience and encouragement—skills that will serve them in many areas of life.
To capture the experience, the stories and drawings will be published in a bound book, providing a lasting record of the creativity and collaboration shared across campuses.
Through activities like this, Calrossy continues to strengthen connections between Junior and Middle School, nurturing purposeful learning and community spirit.
