A delightful collaboration recently unfolded at Calrossy, bringing together students from either end of their schooling journey. Year 12 Hospitality students welcomed our youngest learners from Preschool to the Brisbane Street Campus food technology kitchen for a special baking session filled with laughter, learning and connection.

This initiative was more than just a fun morning in the kitchen – it was designed to encourage cross-campus engagement and foster meaningful relationships across the school. The older students embraced the opportunity to guide and support their younger buddies, while the Preschoolers beamed with pride as they rolled, shaped and decorated their colourful cookie creations.

The activity provided a relaxed and joyful environment where our Hospitality students could step into mentoring roles, demonstrating patience, care and encouragement. For the Preschoolers, it was an exciting moment of discovery and a wonderful chance to feel included and empowered alongside their ‘big school’ friends.

Underpinning this joyful morning were authentic moments of collaboration and leadership. The experience allowed both groups to learn from one another – building not only baking skills but also confidence, understanding and genuine care in a real-world setting.

Whether it’s in the classroom, the kitchen or the playground, Calrossy is proud to offer opportunities for students of all ages to grow, connect and create change that matters.
