Students from across Calrossy’s Junior School recently came together for their 2025 Music Showcase, held in the Dr Ted Giblin OAM Centre Auditorium on the William Cowper Campus. The event was a formal presentation of learning from throughout the year and featured a range of class and ensemble performances.
The Showcase provided students with the valuable experience of performing in a professional setting, helping them build confidence and share their progress with families, staff and peers. It was the first time the event was hosted in the new auditorium, with excellent acoustics enhancing the sound and atmosphere. The presence of a supportive audience added to the positive energy in the room, making it a memorable day for all involved.

The performance program included:
- Infants Choir – Thankful by Shawna Edwards
- Year 3 Combined Instrumental Ensemble – Count Me In by Ed Wilson
- Year 4/5 Band – Three Little Fishies by Saxie Dowell, arranged by Joan Thorp
- Year 6 Class Ensemble – Hey Soul Sister by Train
- Primary Choir – On A Starlit Night (A Partner Song with Silent Night) by Jill Gallina
- Primary Concert Band – Rockin’ Time by Tom Honeyman

The Showcase reflected the variety and progression within the Junior School Music Program, which supports students’ musical understanding from foundational skills through to ensemble performance. Each item demonstrated the collaborative efforts of students and staff, as well as the commitment to building confidence through the arts.
Music continues to be a key element of co-curricular life at Calrossy, providing students with a platform to explore creativity, work as a team, and engage with their learning in meaningful ways.
