This week, Year 9 students from Calrossy’s Middle School visited the Infants classrooms for a morning of shared reading and creative activities.

Each Year 9 student brought along a favourite book from their own childhood, while Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students also came prepared with their much-loved stories. Across the morning, students paired up to read together, draw, chat and even dance—creating a lively and engaging atmosphere on the William Cowper Campus.

The experience encouraged connection across age groups, with our older Middle School students stepping into a mentoring role, and our youngest learners enjoying the novelty of new faces and shared stories. It was a valuable opportunity to build community, encourage a love of reading, and enjoy some fun together beyond the usual classroom routine.

Activities like this help strengthen the sense of connection across Calrossy’s Junior and Middle School and reflect our focus on fostering respectful relationships and confident learners at every stage.
