The Calrossy Middle School community came together today for a vibrant Term 3 Celebration Assembly, held in the Bishop Peter Chiswell Hall. The event was a proud reflection of the learning, growth and achievement taking place within Calrossy 7–9.
With a program rich in student involvement, the assembly highlighted the diverse ways our learners are developing confidence, purpose and resilience—whether in the classroom, through co-curricular pursuits or beyond.

The celebration opened with a high-energy performance from the Calrossy Jazz Band, which included students from both the Middle and Senior Schools. Their musical set featured multiple numbers, blending contemporary and traditional styles—including a bold rendition of Radioactive by Imagine Dragons and a lively classic titled Kansas City . The ensemble’s talent and enthusiasm set a joyful and engaging tone for the assembly.
A select group of students were honoured for their achievements beyond the classroom, with awards recognising sporting success, excellence in a co-curricular interest, and personal accomplishments that demonstrated leadership, creativity or resilience. These awards reflect Calrossy’s holistic approach to education, where student growth is celebrated in all its forms.
The assembly also saw the presentation of faculty awards, recognising students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement and growth across key subject areas: English, Mathematics, Science, HSIE, Music, TAS, CAPA and LOTE.
These awards were presented to students from both on-campus and eCalrossy, acknowledging the consistent effort, academic excellence and personal development displayed across the wider Calrossy learning community.

The assembly also featured engaging student reflections on recent experiential learning opportunities. Students who took part in the New Zealand Sports Tour spoke about the pride of representing Calrossy overseas, the friendships formed, and the skills built through sport and travel. Meanwhile, Year 9 students who attended the Sydney Excursion shared highlights from their time exploring cultural landmarks, engaging in team challenges and learning in real-world environments.
These student-led presentations captured the richness of learning that happens beyond the school gates, and the confidence built through new experiences.
Calrossy’s Middle School years are designed to be a time of development—academically, socially and spiritually. Events like the Term 3 Celebration Assembly provide valuable moments to come together, acknowledge effort, and honour the many ways students are thriving across Years 7–9.
We congratulate all students recognised on the day and thank the staff, families and peers who continue to support their journey.
