On Monday afternoon, students in the Anglicare Take Love service-learning XP program turned their classroom into a kitchen of kindness, baking homemade shortbread biscuits with jam centres to share with others in the local community.
Led by Mrs Kelli Cato and Mrs Julie Murrie, the program provides meaningful opportunities for students to engage in acts of service that reflect Calrossy’s values of compassion, generosity and care. They were joined by volunteers, Helen Pearce and Helen Campbell, both long-standing members of the Calrossy community whose deep connection and ongoing involvement bring warmth and continuity to the program.

The beautifully packaged biscuits will be delivered to residents at Tamworth Gardens and shared with individuals supported through the Tamworth Correctional Centre ministry, offering a thoughtful reminder of kindness and connection.
The Take Love XP program is part of Calrossy’s broader commitment to service learning — giving students the chance to contribute meaningfully to the lives of others and to see first-hand the impact that small acts of care can have in the community.
Through these experiences, students not only learn practical skills but also develop empathy, gratitude and a deeper understanding of what it means to serve.
