A treasured Old Girl and beloved member of the Calrossy family.
It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Mrs Jacque Fogarty (Abbott ’64), a cherished Old Girl, dedicated volunteer and champion of Calrossy Anglican School. Jacque passed away peacefully at home, in Tamworth, on 18th September 2025, aged 78.
Jacque’s connection to Calrossy began in 1960 as a student, graduating in 1964. However, her most enduring contributions came long after her school years. A tireless advocate for Calrossy and its mission, showing grace and tireless energy, Jacque helped shape and strengthen the Old Girls’ Union—now Calrossy Alumni—transforming it into a vibrant and enduring community. Her commitment inspired countless past students to reconnect, contribute, and celebrate their shared history.
Jacque’s selflessness, integrity and service perfectly reflected Calrossy’s core values. Whether it was through volunteering as a sports coach, organising reunions, contributing to the Calrossy archives, or simply lending a helping hand, she lived her life in service to others and to her school community. Jacque was not just a supporter of Calrossy – she shaped its heart and soul.
A visionary and motivator, Jacque was especially instrumental in re-establishing the Tamworth Branch of the Old Girls’ Union in 1989, alongside Helen Easterman. Her legacy continued to grow over the decades, not least through her support of her daughter Gillian (Class of 1992), and later, the thriving Calrossy Alumni community that she helped to shape.

In more recent years, Jacque was a significant force behind the Calrossy Centenary celebrations in 2019, ensuring the success of reunion events and celebrations that involved over 1,000 people throughout the year. Her passion for preserving our history, while building a hopeful future, has left a lasting imprint on Calrossy.
On behalf of the entire Calrossy community, past and present, we extend our deepest condolences to her family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her dearly loved husband John, her loving daughters and son-in-law, Gillian, Grant and Amanda, and her adored grandchildren Lucy, Victoria, Elouise and Edward.
Jacque’s legacy will live on in the many lives she touched, the traditions she helped preserve, and the Calrossy spirit she so dearly loved.
She will be missed but never forgotten.
