It is with heartfelt gratitude and fond memories that we honor and celebrate the life of Pam O’Hara, a long-time and much-loved Christian Studies teacher at William Cowper and Calrossy Junior School.
Pam’s passion for sharing Christ’s word was evident in the weekly lessons she delivered with care and conviction, making the message of faith accessible, relevant, and a foundation for all to build upon. Her dedication to nurturing spiritual growth was unwavering, and her impact will be remembered by countless students, families, and colleagues.
Pam's vibrant faith and love for community shone through in her initiatives. She established and ran the much-loved JAFFA (Jesus as Friend For All) Club, creating a welcoming space for children to explore and deepen their faith. Alongside Janelle Tongue, Pam organized unforgettable overnight and weekend retreats at Loomberah, engaging children and their families with activities and events that carried meaningful messages of faith and fellowship.
At the end of each Junior School journey, Pam guided Year 6 students through reflective retreats, helping them celebrate their growth and prepare for the next chapter of their lives. Her commitment to instilling a sense of community extended to the Compassion Program, where she championed the sponsorship of a child in a developing country. Pam organized countless fundraisers and fostered a spirit of service that resonated deeply within the school community.
Her enthusiasm for the ‘Christmas in a Shoebox’ appeal was unparalleled, and her ability to connect with others ensured its continued success. Through assemblies celebrating Christian calendar events and school musicals, Pam creatively shared messages of faith, joy, and love.
Pam’s legacy extends far beyond her teaching. She was a constant source of support and kindness, always available to students, families, and staff. With a listening ear, a compassionate heart, and an open door, she provided counsel, friendship, and mentorship to all who needed it.
Pam was a wonderful role-model for all in how to live a Christian Life. Her compassion, sense of service, selflessness and ability to embrace and encourage all those she met, truly reflected the aims of the School. Nothing was ever too much trouble or effort. No problem or obstacle to large to overcome. She was always willing to walk the mile and share the load.
Pam’s compassion, sense of service, and selflessness embodied the values of Calrossy Anglican School. Her willingness to go above and beyond, her tireless energy, and her unwavering faith will forever inspire those who knew her.
We give thanks for Pam’s life, her legacy, and her immeasurable contributions to our school community. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May she rest in peace.
