Calrossy’s Celebrate the Community evening on Tuesday night was a wonderful way to bring our school family together at the end of another busy and memorable year. Held under warm skies at Tamworth Rugby Park, the event was filled with gratitude, fun and heartfelt moments as we thanked the many people who helped shape school life in 2025.
Families gathered for an evening of live music, great food and plenty of laughter, with children making the most of the jumping castle while parents and staff enjoyed time to connect. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful—exactly the kind of community spirit Calrossy cherishes.
A major purpose of the evening was to acknowledge the contributions of those who quietly and consistently support our school: our proactive P&F parents, dedicated volunteers, tireless sports coaches, and the many friends of Calrossy who give so generously of their time, energy and encouragement. Their efforts enrich the lives of our students and help make Calrossy the vibrant, caring community it is.
The night also served as an informal farewell to our Principal, Mr David Smith, and his wife, Julie, who will conclude his nine-year tenure at the end of this year. In a moment of warmth and humour, the P&F presented Mr Smith with a fitting caricature—capturing both his leadership and his trademark smile. It was a gesture that reflected the deep appreciation felt across our school community.
As families chatted, children played and the band played on, there was a shared sense of gratitude for the journey Calrossy has travelled together this year—and for the steady, servant-hearted leadership Mr and Mrs Smith has provided throughout his time with us. They will be deeply missed.
