Calrossy students recently took part in our World of Careers Dinner, an engaging evening that connected them with industry professionals from across a diverse range of fields.

Guests from areas including IT, engineering, teaching, defence, aviation, trades, business and many more generously shared their experiences, offering students practical insights into career pathways and the skills required for success.

A quarter of students in Years 9 to 12 gathered in the hall alongside more than 50 guests, representing a broad cross-section of industries. Students and guests were seated according to shared interests, creating an environment where conversations flowed naturally and often continued well beyond expectations.

“The evening was intentionally designed to be relaxed and conversational, with no formal speeches—just the opportunity to sit, share a meal and learn from one another. Both students and guests chose to be there, bringing a genuine sense of curiosity and engagement. For our students, it was a valuable opportunity to connect with professionals working in fields they aspire to be part of,” said Careers Advisor, Mr Charles Impey.

We are grateful to our guests for sharing their time, experience and insights, giving students a valuable opportunity to explore future pathways and gain a clearer understanding of the world beyond school.
