In 2025, Calrossy Anglican School launched a new tradition — one that honours every student’s journey and deepens our sense of community across generations. The Calrossy Our Light and Life Register is a living document that will capture the names of every student as they walk through the seasons of school life, from their first day to their final farewell — and beyond.

A Tradition Begins

Earlier this term, the Year 12 Class of 2025 became the first ever cohort to sign our Light and Life Register. Just days before beginning their HSC exams, these students reflected on their growth, their friendships, and the years that shaped them. Their signatures mark both the end of their Calrossy schooling and the beginning of their journey as valued members of our Alumni community.

Last week, it was the Kindergarten Class of 2037 who added their names. With the kind support of Mrs Catrina O’Mullane, Mrs Patrice McMullen and Mrs Jodie Knights, these young learners quietly and proudly took part in this historic moment — the very first Junior School student cohort to begin this lifelong tradition.

A Journey Marked by Milestones

From now on, every Calrossy student will sign Our Light and Life Register at key milestones:

Kindergarten – the very beginning of their school journey

Year 6 – celebrating the end of Junior School

Year 9 – marking the transition into Senior Secondary

Year 12 – their final year as students

Alumni Reunions and Godfrey Guild events – affirming lifelong connection

Each signature is a testament not only to a student’s presence, but to their place within the unfolding story of Calrossy Anglican School.

“The Register will be a living record of our shared history,” said Principal David Smith.
“Every signature represents a story, a journey, and a connection. For a child in Kindergarten, it’s a mark of belonging. For a Year 12 student, it’s a moment of reflection — a reminder that Calrossy is always part of their life.”

Strengthening Generational Ties

Our Light and Life Register builds on Calrossy’s strong Alumni traditions, inspired by the tireless contributions of past students like Mary England (Melville ’43) and Jacque Fogarty (Abbott ’64) , who worked for decades to preserve the bonds between students, staff and families across generations.

Michael Wilson, Development Coordinator, shared:
“This tradition reinforces the enduring strength of the Calrossy community — and honours those who came before us. It’s about legacy, connection and celebrating the people who shape our story.”

Light and Life for Generations to Come

From Bishop Wentworth Shields’ founding vision in 1919 to the new generation of students signing today, the Our Light and Life Register reflects our values — Resilience, Selflessness, Integrity and Inclusiveness — and our mission to be “creators of hope and change that matters.”

As each name is added, the Register grows — a rich tapestry of belonging, memory and meaning. For every student, it will be a reminder that no matter where life takes them, they are forever part of the Calrossy family.
