Where the classroom meets the paddock
In the heart of one of Australia’s leading agricultural regions, Calrossy offers students the opportunity to learn Agriculture by experiencing it.
Our 240-acre working property, Tangara Farm, is home to our Kamilaroi Shorthorn cattle and White Dorper sheep studs and provides an authentic environment where students develop practical skills alongside their classroom learning.
Students gain experience across livestock management, breeding, animal health, pasture improvement, fencing, preparation, showing and marketing. More specialised opportunities include artificial insemination, embryo transfer and oestrus synchronisation, connecting science and technology with modern agricultural practice.
Learning extends well beyond the farm. Our location in North West NSW provides access to leading producers, feedlots, research facilities and agricultural businesses, while students compete and exhibit at major events including the Sydney Royal Easter Show, National Shorthorn Show and Sale, Wingham Beef Week and Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza.
Calrossy has a proud record of HSC achievement in Agriculture and Primary Industries, alongside success in livestock judging, showing and sales. Students can also join our Cattle and Sheep Teams, developing confidence, teamwork, communication and leadership through real-world experiences.
Whether students see their future on the land, in agribusiness, agricultural science or one of the many industries supporting the sector, Calrossy provides the knowledge, connections and practical experience to turn an interest in Agriculture into a pathway.
