Mrs Lesley Lamb opened the morning with an address to Year 12, combining song lyrics with words of advice and encouragement for the students as they look towards life beyond school.

Mr Mark Doran followed by reflecting on the journey from Junior School through to Senior Secondary. A highlight came when two of our current Kindergarten students joined Year 12 student George Pearson at the front of the assembly. Standing alongside George – who is arguably as tall as Mr Doran – they provided a humorous reminder of just how much can change between Kindergarten and Year 12.

There were plenty more laughs when certificates and student portraits from “back in the day” made an appearance, giving Year 12 and the audience a glimpse back at their younger selves.

Year 12 were then invited to share their favourite Junior School memories, with each student recalling something different. Tasty Treats, Year 4 Camp and the much-loved sandpit at playtime were among the moments that have stayed with them over the years.

The memories continued as members of our Junior School teaching team who had taught the students during their younger years took turns sharing stories from their time in the classroom. Moving through the different stages of their Junior School journey, the stories sparked plenty of recognition, laughter and smiles from Year 12 as familiar moments were brought back to life.

The assembly concluded with the School Song and prayer, providing a fitting end to a morning celebrating the many people and experiences that have been part of their Calrossy journey.

With the end of Year 12 now approaching, it was a special opportunity for these students to return to Junior School, revisit some much-loved memories and celebrate just how far they have come since their first years at Calrossy.
