Everything you need to know

It was an afternoon filled with colour, laughter and plenty of community spirit as students, families and staff came together at William Cowper Campus last Friday for the Calrossy P&F Colour Run!
From clouds of colour filling the air to carnival games, delicious food and some very enthusiastic volunteers, the afternoon was a wonderful celebration of everything that makes our Calrossy community so special. With excitement building throughout the afternoon and plenty of activities for all ages to enjoy, there was certainly no shortage of smiles, laughter or colourful moments!

Students made their way around the Colour Run course, collecting plenty of colour along the way thanks to our teachers stationed throughout the colour zones. Armed with colourful powder and plenty of enthusiasm, our teachers made sure very few students crossed the finish line looking anything like they did at the start! A special mention goes to Mrs Natalie Deacon, whose enthusiasm and entertaining antics brought plenty of extra laughter to the afternoon.
There was just as much excitement happening off the course, with the Kids Carnival Zone, Caravan of Courage and a range of games keeping everyone entertained. The inflatable soccer stadium, kindly provided by Scripture Union for the evening, was another crowd favourite, proving particularly popular with students eager to join in the action. It was wonderful to see so many of our students lending a hand to run these activities, helping younger students enjoy the fun while contributing to the success of the event.

One of the more memorable moments came courtesy of Mrs Irem Mooney, who embraced her role as a start line attendant by dressing up as a pig, much to the delight of the students who promptly took off chasing her around the course! Her efforts certainly added an unexpected element of entertainment to the afternoon. A big thank you also goes to Mrs Emily Whitton, who joined Mrs Mooney at the start line to help keep everything running smoothly and ensure students were ready for their colourful adventure.
Our Year 11.5 students Thomas Mahony and Toby Ireland certainly earned their steps for the afternoon, completing multiple laps of the course while helping direct students towards the colour zones. Their willingness to get involved and lend a hand was greatly appreciated, and just one example of the fantastic student support throughout the event.
And, of course, no afternoon of colourful chaos would be complete without a little slime! A number of brave teachers, staff and students volunteered to be slimed, much to the delight of the crowd who gathered to watch. With plenty of anticipation and some very enthusiastic spectators, the slime activities provided some fantastic entertainment and more than a few laughs. We are particularly grateful to those who willingly put themselves forward to be covered in slime, all in the name of community fun!

A Wonderful Community Effort
While the afternoon was full of fun, it was the generosity, enthusiasm and willingness of our Calrossy community to get involved that made it all possible.
A huge thank you to our Calrossy P&F Association for their tremendous efforts in bringing the event together, and particularly to Ms Julia Boland, whose months of planning and organisation came to fruition in what was a fantastic afternoon for our school community. From coordinating the many moving parts of the event to ensuring everything was ready for the big day, an enormous amount of work went into making the afternoon such a success.
We are incredibly grateful to the many parents, staff and students who generously volunteered their time, whether running the Kids Carnival Zone, selling and distributing food, coordinating activities, capturing all of the colour moments, helping with the water supply or taking on the countless jobs behind the scenes. Their efforts ensured that families could enjoy the afternoon and make the most of everything on offer.
Special thanks must also go to Mr Sandy Cudmore, who went above and beyond to ensure there was enough water being pumped onto the oval, even making a dash home to keep things flowing! It was one of the many examples of people stepping up wherever needed to make sure the afternoon ran smoothly.

Our thanks also extend to the students who helped run the Caravan of Courage, carnival games and inflatable soccer stadium, along with our wonderful teachers who enthusiastically embraced their roles in the colour zones. Whether they were handing out food, helping students navigate the course, keeping activities running or volunteering to be slimed, every contribution played a part in creating such a memorable event.
It was particularly special to see so many members of our school community coming together, with students of different ages, families, teachers and staff all sharing in the excitement. Events like these are a wonderful reminder that some of the best school memories are made outside the classroom, through shared experiences, laughter and the simple enjoyment of being together.
The Calrossy P&F Colour Run was about much more than running through clouds of colour. It was an opportunity for our students, families and staff to connect, enjoy each other's company and celebrate the wonderful community we share.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, volunteered their time or helped bring this fantastic event to life. It was colourful, it was messy, and it was certainly an afternoon to remember!
