Four Calrossy Anglican School teachers have reached an important professional milestone, successfully achieving Accomplished Teacher accreditation following an extensive and rigorous accreditation process.
Mrs Emma O’Connor, Mrs Sally Mahony, Mrs Kate Stone, and Mrs Lauren Mettam have each achieved the voluntary, higher-level accreditation, which recognises accomplished practice within the independent school sector.
The accreditation goes beyond recognising experience in the classroom, acknowledging teachers who continue to develop their expertise and demonstrate a high level of skill across their teaching practice, assessment and support of students with diverse learning needs.
Reaching this level requires teachers to undertake an extensive evidence-based process, compiling a detailed portfolio that demonstrates their professional practice and impact on student learning. Their evidence is then independently assessed by Independent Schools NSW (ISNSW) and the Independent Schools Teacher Accreditation Authority (ISTAA).
For Emma, Sally, Kate and Lauren, achieving Accomplished Teacher accreditation is recognition of the time and commitment they have invested in continuing to develop as educators, while creating engaging, inclusive and effective learning environments for their students.
