From an idea sketched on paper to a finished piece ready for assessment, months of hard work have come together for our Year 12 Industrial Technology students as they complete their 2026 Major Works.
The finished projects recently went on display, showcasing the creativity, craftsmanship and technical skill developed by students throughout their Industrial Technology studies. Each piece tells a different story, reflecting not only an original idea but the many hours spent designing, measuring, constructing, refining and problem-solving along the way.
Among the completed projects were a bed frame featuring built-in lights and wireless charging pads, two TV cabinets, a six-piece dining table and chair setting, a writing desk, dining table, mudroom stand, display cabinet with storage, decorative dog crate with drawers and a chess board with stools.
Students also created a hall table with decorative legs, sideboards and buffets featuring drawers and cupboards, a buffet incorporating a fridge and wine glass storage, an outdoor bar table featuring resin, and two larger bar projects incorporating keg storage, fridges and cabinetry.
Before the projects were marked, staff and fellow students were invited to view the completed Major Works up close. The display offered younger students an opportunity to see what can be achieved through Industrial Technology, providing inspiration for their current classroom projects and perhaps even sparking ideas for Major Works of their own in the years ahead.
Behind every finished piece are countless decisions, challenges and refinements. We congratulate our Year 12 students on the persistence, patience and attention to detail they have shown in taking their projects from initial concepts through to completion.
We also recognise the tireless work of Mr Rhodes and Mr Scott, whose guidance, expertise and many hours in the workshop have supported students throughout the Major Work journey. Their encouragement has helped students navigate challenges, refine their skills and ultimately bring their ideas from paper to life.
Our thanks also go to the families and members of the wider community who contributed their time, skills, advice and support along the way.
